The Blue Economy

Ever since I initiated the Blue Economy in 2004 as "ZERI in Action" hundreds of people have contributed to bring the content within reach of many. The book is translated into 35 languages, it is the subject of animated movies, and several documentaries. If you who read this did not connect and share, we would not be here today. I wish the Blue Economy to be an open source community that inspires the young at heart and in age to become entrepreneurs who want to make a difference. As the world evolves the content around the Blue Economy should grow without any limitations, knowing that we have the responsibility to navigate between fantasy and reality, over vision. The cases that I publish, first for the book presented in November 2009, and then complemented by my regular updates are all the result of a dialogue with people. Brilliant ideas are not the product of a genius, rather the culmination of dialogues with open-minded individuals who care to share. My purpose is to share.

This website brings you all my copyrighted material to be used and distributed. And, as I will invest an increasing amount of my time in translating all existing and newly certified innovations and creative business models into fables for children, I hope that the original material will continue to engender exchanges and the desire to take action. Between 2010 and 2013, Gunter Pauli has presented 100 innovations celebrating the scientists and the entrepreneurs, focusing on a breakthrough technology. All 100 cases have been published through multiple media around the world. Daily updates on existing and new cases are presented through Gunter's Twitter account <@MyBlueEconomy>. Based on 20 years of field experience time has come to provide depth and empowerment through cutting edge and creative proposals. We wish to ensure that more people will have the mindset and the capacity to implement these breakthroughs while understanding how these new business models came about. That is why as of January 2015 the ZERI Foundations and the associated network around the world will publish 100 clusters, sharing how it all started, who provided academic leadership, and where are the entrepreneurs who change the rules of the game.
